ASUCLA – Associated Students of UCLA
ASUCLA is an organization that is for the students, providing services, programs, and facilities to help support and enrich the UCLA community.
Working at ASUCLA was my first exposure to marketing and web design. While working at ASUCLA I learned various skills and directed changes to the site which helped to market ASUCLA services and businesses to the UCLA community.

While working at ASUCLA, I was tasked with redesigning the old website and transferring the data from WordPress to Squarespace.
This was my first time working with WordPress and applying my CSS and HTML knowledge on a project
It was an intimidating task as it was a site almost all of UCLA frequented regularly. However, I was able to overcome these challenges by doing research into web design/accessibility and seeking guidance from my mentor.
Solution
Since ASUCLA, consists of many different organizations, I helped to enact a webpage to automatically refresh the new jobs and their postings via Paycor. This helped to streamline the hiring process and gave employment opportunities more exposure.
For the new site, I also implemented better color-contrast for visual accessibility, wider-margins, and more dynamic animations to help maintain user engagement.
All these changes helped to double overall site traffic to 60k and market ASUCLA businesses to the student body.
